If you missed Nathan's post on the QGL Forums, you wouldn't have seen the links to the screenshots for the Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, or Star Fox Adventures. In addition to the screenshots, you can now also grab copies of the official movies for each of these games locally from AusGamers Files (Zelda, Mario, Metroid Prime, Star Fox).

OMG, that game looks so pathetic, its cartoon style and everything is flat images :(, I thought the Game Cube would be a bit more powerfull than that

It's called "Cell Shading" its not pathetic. Perhpaps you should wait until youve actually seen the game rather than a few still shots still in development.

Cell shading is the process of taking a good looking 3d rendered game, and turning into a piece of ass.

I give them props for making it look really good, however, unfortunately I must say I would prefer the non-cel-shaded style.

from what i understand, cel shading takes the regular 3-d models and world, etc, and displays it with more pronounced shades so it looks like a cartoon image.
i think...

Doom 3 is out on PC...enough said. You would be mad to buy a FPS on a console when it is already on the PC.

hehe, Burnout came out on ps2 like 8 months ago, I saw it in EB today for $40.

I almost got a gamecube on the weekend, but there seriously wasn't anything on it I wanted. I sat in EB for a good 45 minutes trying to figure out a game I would actually want to play on it, and I couldn't. Maybe when smash brothers (people tell me its good) or resident evil comes out, but that'd still only be 1 or 2 games I could get. I dont see the point in buying a console when theres only 1 or 2 games for it I could get...

Games you should buy now

Super Monkey Ball
Waverace

Games you should buy later

Super Smash brothers
Pikmin
RE 0-4
Starfox Adventures
Metroid
Mario Sunshine
Eternal Darkness
Wario World
F-Zero
Zelda

That's about 15 AAA titles before this time next year....also 80% of those are 1st/2nd party games. The only 3rd party games are all the RE stuff, Monkey Ball and F-Zero (kinda/sorta).

You might as well buy a GCN now for the 3 good games now(SSBM is coming out in like 4 days) and then sit back and buy the awesome titles as they come out...That way you won't be overwhelmed when you pick up about 12 or so excellent titles for Xmas.....plus 3rd party

same - but I'll hire it and the system from a video shop for the week, nail all the doors shut, disconnect the phone and take a weeks leave of absence from work.

RE will indeed rock, but it's not worth buying the whole bloody system for.

on some n64 games they took the conversion time to also put in new features. so we could get a rawkingly better version.

I really dont like the new look zelda.

Ive been a fan the whole way, and the cell shading idea isnt all that bad the movies look pretty good, the enemies and animations are sweet, its just that link has been drawn so badly :(

He looks like some nickelodian character from rugrats or hey arnold. When he should look way more hardcore like the piccy below

Gamecube ruled the roost at E3 IMO.

Of the games I got to play Mario Sunshine and Starfox stood out as absolute must buys. They both looked better than any other console game (Starfox was the best looking game I thought) I saw at the show, and played as brilliantly as you'd expect.

Metroid was not bad, but it was a bit slow paced, and I'm not much of an FPS fan anymore. It had nice monsters and a few nice moves carried over from old Metroid, but it lacked the character of most Nintendo games, it was a bit souless.

Zelda looked great, and it looked like it played exactly like all the N64 Zeldas, although I suspect there'll be a few new mechanics there somewhere - but the basic gameplay seemed the same. As a note, Zelda is not using a cel-shaded technique like Jet Set Radio or any Looney Tunes games or whatever, its mostly flat shaded with some simple, cartoon like lighting. I actually think it looks more like a playable cartoon than any cel-shaded game I've seen...

Anwyays, the show well and truly convinced me to buy a Gamecube, I agree with the other posters who commented on the quality over quantity thing with Nintendo, it was the same on the N64 - but then I don't have enough free time to play every damn game that comes out anyways.

The only minus with the PAL GC is the lack of s-video, which sucks, but it does do RGB through SCART, so I'll have to get a SCART cable at some stage...

I bought Sonic 2 with my GC, I would have bought Monkey Ball if I hadn't already played heaps of it. Hopefully Pikmin will be out real soon, and I also want to get SSX Tricky since I haven't got around to playing much SSX yet...

Hahaha, I always find it funny that I get accused of being unjustly biased against Nintendo, when the people who often accuse me as just as biased the other way. Honestly, Nintendo could stick a fresh dog turd in front of some of you people and nail a sign that says "Zelda" to it and you'd call it the greatest thing in gaming history.

When all the previous Zelda games have been fantastic, it would be wrong of us to believe that the new one isn't going to be equally great.

Khel - FlexMentallo mentioned that the gameplay was like the N64 Zeldas, so I don't see how that's so terrible.

Dunno where it came in but I can disagree that its a good game. Nintendo seem to use more cartoony graphics than other game companies and while im sure loads and loads of people like them, im not one of them. Since I can remember, I was never into Nintendo, even in the old days, I was a sega boy back then but favoured the PC over the console. GCN was just one console I was not interested in, im not dissing the system, im sure its good, but its not my kind of thing.

However, a few facts have come to light recently. NST is apparently at the helm of the next Mario Kart, but won't reveal how far along the title is. At the E3 Roundtable discussion, Miyamoto says that the game could have been shown, but Nintendo wanted to devote E3 to games releasing this year.

This isn't the only tidbit Miyamoto has dropped. In a previous interview, he suggested rather heavily that we may see SONIC in the next Mario Kart. This, and the persistent rumor that the next Mario Kart may be an Online title, and we've a lot to look forward to!
