So I gather pretty much everyone who uses this board went through the thread I started about getting a tattoo. So I propose this to all you artistic freaks out there...

...design an armband for me which consists of all the Quake symbols. That is 1, 2, and 3 and I'll get it done on my arm. But it has to look nice and clean. No more than 2 inches thick or else it might show when I'm at work. Not that tat's are frowned upon by the management, just wanna keep it outta view when I wear a short sleeved shirt.

The prize...

Hmmm. I've thought about this long and hard and have come up with a pretty cool one. All the original Quake 2 figurines still packaged in the boxes. So that means there are 4 figures all up, un-opened. They are definately collectors items now, seeing as you can't buy them anywhere. Unless you try E-Bay. But you'll get ripped off.

So what'ya reckon? Are you up for it? And one last thing. The tattoo has to be all black. No colour in it. That pretty much sums it up. If you need proof that I have these figurines, leave a message here and I'll send a photo of them.

The only reason I'll give them away is because I bought 2 of each when they were released. And they're just sitting in my cupboard gathering dust.

But Tref in 40 years time they'll just clone him a new arm, cut off the old one with their nifty portable lasers and reattach his new arm and voila no tattoos ;)

And Rev, colours could be good - make the scrollwork black but fade into colour for the actual Quake symbols. It'd make them stand out a little more.

Just get "cut here" tattooed around your wrist, with a dotted line and little scissors...

I'm working on one but I need to know about colours, as I don't know anything aboout tattoos. How many colours are ok? Do you even want colours?

Well I was looking for all black. The only Quake symbol that has colour is Q3. I know the others have a greyish bit to them but that would hardly be noticable.

So the answer would be black unless you think otherwise. See what you think looks good and do it.

The first quake logo was brown, then second was this greeny colour. third was red.

If you can't tell it's the Quake 3 arena logo 'wrapped around' the guys arm.
If you look at the quake 3 logo it looks like it's wrapped around an invisible cylinder... see what i mean?

although simple, Black September's stands out for me.

some Tattoo's start with something simple and then work into something a little more. I'd email/fax/take in a copy of BS's one and see what the artist who cut it thinks.

These guys don't just mark you ya know - they're artists as well who love to do something more than the images they have on their walls.

i thought the q3 logo was meant to be wrapped backwards around something like what Ģσẩ۶ựłd said about it being rapped around a cylinder. If you were going to do it 3d you should go all the way and not just block out a 2d version of it I reckon.
