This is in the country (you know that place where all your primary produce that keeps you alive comes from?) where cats are feral and a pest. They just got home from hunting kangaroos and pigs and saw the cat so they blew it to s***.

mine own them, end of story, stop posting other ppls cats cos my cats own them too.

Was on my dad's parent's farm one night and we were out rabbit shooting with a big-ass spotty, and got a few rabbits (from memory their eyes reflect blue) before we spotted an orange pair of reflections...

Orange is either cat or fox, so dad picked up the .222 and checked through the scope (we were about 100-150 metres away from it). When he confirmed it wasn't a cat (it could have been a neighbours cat - don't know if he would have shot at a cat even though he says hates them) he took a shot at it...

He said he saw the eyes move as though the thing was spun around 360 degrees and we ran down, but there was no body to be found.

Must have been some tough-ass fox to take a .222 bullet and still run away...

Psco: From memory there were trails of blood on the ground and it probably didn't get too far (it wasn't far to a creekbed lined with trees etc that we would never have found it in so we quit looking after about 2 minutes.

The gun may not have been sighted in too well so it may have only just grazed the thing...

My dad is a very good shot... 11 years of archery teaches you a thing or two about the concentration, etc, required for all types of shooting...

I originally come from way out in the country (where all the produce comes from that keeps you alive) and feral cats were a pest.

Me and a couple mates went hunting up at the town dump and surrounding areas (was awesome area, like cs or something) every weekend for about 2 years.

We killed ourselves 89 cats.

Armed with:

1 club each
1 cattle dog that ferreted out cats
1 .410 rifle complete with solid and duck shot (m3 shotgun)
2 .22 rifles with 8x scopes perfectly sighted (scout)
1 22/250 centrefire magnum with 12x scope (awp)


Was pretty damn cool, and we got paid a s***eload for each scalp (tail usually)



P.S. Sitting on a really high grassy hill with a view of the surrounding grassland for several kilometers in cat-infested territory rocks.

btw the 22/250 had an effective range of about 2.5 km, if you don't believe me, try and find a live round somewhere. Tiny projectile, f***ing huge shell.

Einstein: A .22LR round can have a range of up to and maybe over 1.5 kilometres, and they are pissy little rounds...
