Ok, these are the components in my computer.

AMD K6-2/500 (3D-Now) CPU
ASUS P5A M/B
192 RAM (1x128m p100, 1x64m p133)
Sony 40x CDROM
IBM Deskstar 7200 rpm 13GB HDD
Leadtek Winfast Geforce2 MX
SoundBlaster LIVE VE
Realtek Compatable NIC
AOpen Midi Case

Now, Ive narrowed down the problem to be a conflict between the Winfast Card and Win2k. The problem being that it used to just stall as soon as Win2k loaded up. I fiddled round with the AGP settings in BIOS and now have got it to just randomly reset :)

Any suggestions would be appreciated muchly.

Went to task manager->performance, and what do you know, the CPU Usage was flat at 100%. I take this as being bad and the reason why, when i took the cpu out, it was boiling hot.

I have no idea why its doing this...

you need a cpu fan? or another one?

plague, if the cpu is boiling hot doesn't mean that it is over heating, it sohuld run at about 55-65C while u r playing games. That is very hot to touch. By the sounds of it yes your processor is over heating, solution to this is geta bigger fan, or get more fans for your case, keep the airflow moving, i looked at it last night and it was working lovely in the air con. Geta 9" fan for the side of yoru case and get it to blow over the whole mobo, yes it may need a 240 V connection but it should work.

does anyone know if Mos Tech is at every Qgl lan?
