Had a nice day celebrating how awesome this country is today with a BBQ with some buds. A beeaaaaaautiful Queensland summer day with some snags and beers and kicking back to the Triple J Hottest 100. Unfortunately, it was incredibly predictable, with Powderfinger again making a strong showing, yawn. Somehow U2 crept into the number 2 spot with their largely average song, but whatever, you get that. Hopefully next year Powderfinger will tour the USA or something and not make any new songs so we can have a slightly more distributed Top 10.

Term flipped me a link to this kewl kite site, featuring Kite Surfing, which looks totally awesome. Pity the rigs are a bit prohibitively expensive for the newbit; I'll have to try and track down somewhere to rent one or something for a test spin.

sif the whole Hottest 100 wasn't spoiled by that U2 song... it stuck out like a sore thumb amongst Powderfinger like that.

All I can say, though, is that Powderfinger weren't that great at BDO. Too loud and it spoiled the music cause it was distorting...

sif Paul Kelly with "Every f***ing City" shouldn't have got number 1. :)

there aint much balencing to it, I think its more a case of hang on tight :) the board is strapped to your feet

My sister and her hubby have a boat for water skiing (well more for wakeboarding) and they just bought themselves a trampoline so they can practice doing flips, etc. I had a good laugh when I pictured them in the back yard, with a board strapped to their feet, holding a rope that's tied to the house, and trying to do a forward flip on the trampoline... :)

Awesome boat, though. Haven't been in it yet, but it's like a year or so old and has a huge mother 350ci V8 in it! =)

Kite surfing is more waterskiing with wicked airs and nice bumps to get ya airborne

Depending on the wind conditions, you can go from really high airs to "f*** i just s*** myself" airs
