Bid for Power is a new DragonBallZ mod coming soon for Quake 3.

Dragon Ball Z: Bid For Power is a mod for Quake III that is fast paced deathmatch action modeled specifically after the Japanese anime Dragonball Z. Bid For Power incorporates characters, levels, attacks as well as many other aspects of the TV show and reconstructs them into the Quake III engine. Bid For Power adds to the element of deathmatch with several different types of multiplayer games including Free For All, Capture the Dragonballz, Last Man Standing, and The Battle for the Planet.

Planetnamek has done a preview of the mod, go check it out. Even though I know nothing about DragonBallz, it looks like they've put in a lot of effort - looks pretty neat.

I have been working in the Quake 3 world ever since it started. With the amount of maps and mods I review is some-what overwhelming. After being given the task of reviewing this “Bid For Power” mod back in early 2000. I am still waiting for it to be officially released. The team has been working on the mod for over 400 days and just a few screenshots here and there. What is wrong with them? Are they just slack?

To tell you the truth. The team at “Bid For Power” are not very liked by the rest of the Quake 3 community.

Haven't you noticed that there is not much talk about them except at their own web site? There hasn't been any news about them over at PlanetQuake, Quake3World or RTD Quake 3 in ages. And I know why.

The team thinks that they have the best mod and such and have been bragging about it for ages. They think that they are so cool and better than everyone else in the Quake 3 community. This continuous bragging has made them very unpopular and they are paying the price. Sure you may think that from the screenshots it looks great but what about the people behind it?

I'm agreeing with all my other Quake 3 friends. “Bid For Power” started off good but the continuous bragging just ruined it. They suck.
