I always miss out because the first thing I ever hear about the upcoming Origin is that it's sold out. Hence the thread for others like me :)

I reckon (recent) state of origins would be more fun if you

a) lived in QLD.
b) went for QLD.

If you have a surround setup, you could maybe try muting the centre channel? You'd still get crowd noises in the surrounds.

Foxtel lets you just have Crowd noise.
You can also get a video view from in the stands.
Due to our retarded content Laws Foxtel cant show the Origin match Live.
