I bought MW2 off steam and a mate plays it on his xbox via XBOXLIVE. I created a Windows LIVE account but can't actually sign into Windows LIVE after I've created a handle etc..

Can you play MW2 through steam through Windows LIVE so I can play with my mate on XBOX LIVE?

What's wrong with windows live? Plus yeah, can't play PC vs XBox. Tell him to buy a PC and play it the way it was meant to be played.

Ok I'm obviously missing something, I thought he meant windows live messenger like how in steam you can use friends to invite ppl into a game. What's this whole windows live thing where you can play games? All I know about is windows live messenger.

Windows live is a piece of s*** system that you are FORCED to use on certain games, otherwise you can't save your game, it's a laggy buggy piece of s***, it took me 5 hours to get it working just so I could play RFG.

I've never had a problem with Windows Live.

I don't really like all the s*** you have to sign into to avoid being annoyed when you start a game (for GTA its that social network thing, windows live, and steam..) but shrug?

How about this, XBOX and PC are both great platforms, and it is up to you to decide which you like better. Dedicated servers on consoles are great, while windows live isnt a pain for me on it, i can see how it annoys some. And PC gaming is amazing simply because the keyboard and mouse is so much easier to use. Paying to play is an issue, but what of it? People pay a hell of a lot more for WoW and i think paying $70 AUD a year is a welcome price for playing online. :)

reason why you cant log into live is that you actually need to put the cdkey into windows live... when you connect it should get an error and ask you to but a cdkey in
