Did a clean install and unknowingly deleted a pile of different files. MP3, movie files, pictures etc. So basically looking for a program that will recover those types of files from a FORMATTED drive that has unfortunately had windows installed back over it. Preferably free, but ok if not. Suggestions? Have already tried Recuva and Pc Inspector.Cheers

R-Studio. It has a free trial that will let you see what files are recoverable and you can recover any file for free, up to a certain size (I think its like 50k, its tiny so mostly useless, but at least you can see what you CAN recover). To buy the full thing costs like US$60 or something IIRC. It's f***ing awesome and has saved my bacon several times. http://www.r-studio.com/ . Their website looks like Povvy McPovalot now but the software is solid.

edit: here's the demo page: http://www.data-recovery-software.net/Data_Recovery_Download.shtml
