I'm playing it on an xbox with a standard analog controller and to me the controls just feel way too sensitive, I've lowered them right down to 0% in the settings and it's fine for the most part but the controls still seem to be more or less on or off with very little analog feel to them. Like from about 0 - 50% on the analog stick the controls are more or less in tune with my movement of the stick but soon as I push it a little passed 50% the steering on the car just goes way off & almost to full lock. It's really starting to piss me off because at high speeds it's making my car uncontrollable.

Am I alone in thinking the controls are absolute s*** or is it just me being a racing noob? I was considering getting a steering wheel for my 360 since I've decided to use it as my racing game machine & keep my PC for FPS, do any of you play NFS:SHIFT with a steering wheel? If so is it any better? I found it helped heaps with NFS on my PC but it's a wheel that doesn't work on a console, it's PC only.

Found this while searching for performance issues on my G25 in SHIFT. Sorry, can't recall the actual website

Steering Dead Zone-15%
Accel Dead Zone-10%
Brake Dead Zone-10%
Steering sensitivity-5%
Acell Sensitivity -5%
Brake sensitivity-5%
Speed steering Sensitivity 100%

On to the 2nd fix:

At the main menu enter CAR GARAGE----> TUNING, press 'Y' to enter quick tuning mode.
Under the heading 'balance' move the slider all the way to OVERSTEER. That's right oversteer. Apparently the developer labeled this slider wrong or its a glitch. Turning the slider to oversteer will actually add understeer.

Now go drive. as you can see the cars are now more comparible to the feeling of Forza2 and RacePro. It may not be as good but it is now close! There was a sim hidden somewhere in all this mess and I may have to take back some to the nasty things I said beforehand :)

I'm not using a wheel though for the xbox, as I said my wheel only works on a PC, I'm currently using the analog controller that comes standard with an xbox 360.

So you've got a steering wheel for the 360? do you have shift? Does it make it any easier to drive? I know with nfs:u it makes it a hell of a lot easier.

Sorry, should have clarified
Have Wheel (Logitech G25) and play SHIFT on PC

The first config mentioned was a post I found in relation to an analogue controller on Xbox 360.
The Understeer /Oversteer issue in Fix#2 was for PC/Steering Wheel combos (and only helps on the cars in your garage). Does improve handling though. You may want to lower your Speed steering Sensitivity to see if that helps.

The original post was found somewhere on an EA forum.
Hope that helps

After doing some looking I've since discovered there is no such thing as a force feedback wheel for an xbox 360... wtf? They only have ones with some pox double rumble bulls***.

Time to sell my 360 & go back to playing every game on a PC because PC's are just so f***ing superior and I already have a wheel for PC (which I was going to sell but think I'll keep now). wtf good are consoles except as book ends?
