Just wtf. Who comes up with this s***? Did they deliberately choose that name to make it fail? Mind you, if you've tried the stuff then you're not likely to go back near it again anyway..

The name is going to spark controversy amongst consumers which will spread virally, evidently through threads such as these, effectively resulting in free advertising and an improved ROI.

Welcome to marketing 101.

I've purchased 8 tubs of new vegemite since it has been released, quite like it.

I'm going to deliberately never buy it again because of the name, purely out of spite because I'm that much of a knob.

In addition, consumer involvement in the branding processes does not only build a strong relationship between the consumer and brand but also brings the consumer closer to the product development team, effectively giving the consumer a sense of empowerment and self-satisfaction.

Welcome to marketing 102 and English Grammer & Spelling 101.

Purchase of high involvement products such as the ISnack 2.0 typically causes the consumer to experience Post Purchase Evaluation. This final stage in the product buying process may cause the consumer to feel Post Purchase Dissonance, in other words, the feeling of discomfort after purchasing the product. This may be due to either finding another product that is of better value or merely due family/friends' criticism of the product.
Midda

Yeah, that's what I thought it tasted like. I really liked it, and it's not as strong, so you can layer it on pretty thick.

I'd actually be tempted to try just mixing Vegemite with cream cheese just to see if I get the same result.

Quite true, would suspect this is at least one part of why they chose the stupid name. Doesn't change the fact that the new stuff horrible s***e I wouldn't feed to my dogs. That said, I'm one of those freaks who loves Vegemite like crazy and will slather it onto bread/toast without butter & not give it a second thought.

“The new name has simply not resonated with Australians - particularly the modern technical aspects associated with it,” Kraft corporate affairs boss Simon Talbot said.

They make it out as though Australians don't like technology. No, it's just that it was a totally f***ing retarded name for a spread.

The new name is Vegemite Cheesybite.

Vegemite Cheesybite will replace the much unlamented iSnack 2.0 as the name for its new Vegemite cheese blend.

Cheesybite got 36 per cent of the 30,000 votes cast by members of the public as part of a telephone and online poll staged by the food company.

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/business/cheesy-name-for-cheesy-vegemite-20091007-gm0y.html?autostart=1

Seems to be very closely matched to a Cheesymite so I wonder if Bakers Delight will launch a lawsuit against Kraft.
