Decided against necroing an old thread.

It's pretty fun.

The stat whores and team stackers are boring. And a significant proportion of the community are internet tough guys / a******s. But if you can avoid them and find people around your level (PSR / KD) the games are pretty fun.

And I can say that even tho I suck.

So, is this the retail game, or the beta still?

Been playing dota since 05~. About 80~ games into HoN i'm really liking it. Also about 98% of those games were actually completed compared to about 50% on dota.

Beta but you can now preorder and get a funky shield on your name.

I am yet to see a game that hasn't been completed. And finding games with people around your skill level is way easier then in dota.

I downloaded the beta, but I've never played DoTA before, and I realised that there was no single-player mode. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, so I don't want to play online.

Start a game on "practice mode" and f*** around for a bit.

yeah i played dota a fair bit, great game love it, rarely any leavers and its improving daily, and they support it heaps well :)

I think all the 'hardcore' wanker DOTA players have picked up this game, the community is terrible. I've played about 4 game so far and about 1 game was reasonable, the other 3 were filled with absolute wankers!

Yeh there is a massive cockpulling element unfortunately.

Well, I'm in 100% of my games, so i guess i skew that figure.

If you looking and can find a group of Australians its massive fun. Ive almost played it to death but the updates/new heroes keep me interested while i wait for it to go out of beta. I wanna see the custom maps roll in (which will happen).
