post what new stuff you're listening to at the moment [need to get some new music :D].

here's a few to start off. found the first 2 from general music browsing and heard the last 2 on the j's.

you are more than welcome to s*** all over someone else's choice of music as long as you post something yourself. so don't post unless there's a youtube (or any other site) link with a music recommendation in it.

A few years ago I was watching this singing competition on TV and there was this Guy on there that really shone, so I sent in an SMS voting for him to win the content - and he DID. Unfortunately since then he has been nothing but a bitter disappointment.

Until I heard this!

thermite, you have to be f***ing kidding, right?

Haha, my work colleague just looked at me like 'wtf is he looking at' because I had to stifle my laughter from thermite's post.

@taggs, I'm loving Deadmau5 and Bag Raiders! Fave songs are:

Rofs I had a quick look at the Guy Sebastian music video and I am fairly sure former NRL player Jason Stevens is the bar keep in it.

Bad song though, just terrible.

Sorry it had to be done.

As much as I like Mika, this has to be possibly the gayest music video ever created. I think they could have got more scenes into it featuring Mika as well.

Say what you want about Guy Sebastian, but I think you're being disingenuous if you say 'Like It Like That' is anything but a fantastic song. I know you emo kids these days may find it a bit hard to understand music with audible lyrics and a positive theme, but this song embodies the spirit of joy and life and what singing should be.

alright thermite....
i see what you're saying.
guys previous stuff has been bland r&b in the gay 'backstreet boys' sense.
but that song is more classic r&b with pop stylings.
the vocal line is strong and catchy and leans to that AOR good time rock feel,
i.e john cougar melloncamp os something like that.
very refreshing to hear guy sebastian do something decent.
did he get married and finally have sex?
could have something to do with it.........

Guy Sebastian needs to develop a drug problem and cheat on his wife with that Football Ho then his music sales will increase.

yes lewd, infact a couple things happened:
- This is the first album/song he's done that he's written himself, he has finally gotten out of the 'australian idol' record deal he's been stuck with for winning the show where he had to sing someone else's s***.
- He wrote that song in Hervey Bey at the holiday house where he proposed to his wife.

Cant say i know much of his music but that didnt sound any different to his other music.

pinky: i don't like that song but only because it sounds exactly like almost every other prog house track deadmau5 has ever done. i used to be the biggest fanboi back when he was the first person to be pushing that sound and not exactly, jaded, arguru and faxing berlin are still some of my fav tracks but he seems to be a bit of a one-trick pony in the prog house department, imo. plus i hate all of his electro :P

/end tl:dr whiney rant

but that bag raiders track is awesome, love it.

demon: moar please! love the first dubstep track and the dnb track is much harder than most dnb i listen to but i still liked it. i usually go for the more melodic/softer stuff like high contrast or logistics or pretty much anyone from hospital records. though i have to admit i don't really keep up to date with my dnb.

domino: 3rd track was rad, also liked the first.

keep the recommendations coming people, i have plenty of internet points that need using up!

here's a band a mate turned me onto a little while ago, they're playing parklife if any of you chumps are going:

also i heard this song on jjj and it's rad (sorry spook, it has guitars):

I made a post paying out Raven for his comment but deleted it after listening to a couple of the tracks on here.

I mean each to their own and all that, but that f***ing track by brokencyde is absolutely horrible. What sort of rich-mummy-and-daddy white boy wannabe s*** is that? And the screaming and the half cocked male posturing and the carry on is just the worst kind of rubbish and the reason why not everyone should be given a chance to make music.

In fact it's a pretty good argument for being knocked on the head at birth IMO.

As for Joanna Wang I don't quite know what to make of that but something about her smug self involved folk schtick makes me want to blast Slayer at 3000 decibels while swinging an axe in one hand and holding my balls in the other.

I quite liked Speech Debelle though, will check her out.
And of course all of Spook's selections are on the money. I really think perhaps we may have been separated at birth. Even the idea of a mid week drunken youtube bender makes me a little moist.

nah f*** that. c'mon raven, if you don't like what's been posted give us something that's better (in your opinon - everything in this thread should come with that meant implicitly). i'm genuinely interested in what others are listening to even if it is f***ing mika (ps ur gay).

that is pretty goddamn creepy syco.

IV: good to see more people who <3 breaks, love the deibeat track. also diggin the micha moore track and the sir mix-a-lot one!

pretty rad dead prez track, i love:

and

from hearing them on Dave Chappelle's Block Party, might go source myself some more of their stuff.

fark how good is that kentaro guy?! if you're into turntablism, DEXTER from the Avalanches is playing breaks 'n enter tonight at Moon Bar (Empire). i'll be heading along if i'm not too lazy to go out :(

icewyrm: i don't mind my indie/folk sorta music at times, but man that bitch is f***ing pretentious and preachy. or maybe that's just the vibe i got. some examples of stuff i like:

and

edit: lol, just watched the xavier rudd clip i posted and he gets a little preachy too. why can't indie artists take themselves less seriously!? :P

heh. i rarely bother arguing with people about music tastes unless they already like similar stuff to what i like & then we argue about the specific differences that we like/dislike. arguing with people that have a vastly different taste in music is just pointless.. especially with people that have a static taste in musical style... there is no common ground n it's just a waste of time imo.

so much music i actively hated when younger i like now & vise-versa... that alone makes most arguments irrelevant :P if it does it for ya, then give it the phat props... if it doesn't, move along.

having said all that... spook.. that TOM OC is fukn terrible !@$! hahah :D it's like some yob with a handful of the most tragically simple lyrics saying them out of tune with a cher-like voice modulator. :P

one of my all time favourite dnb tracks... jah bless the youtubes. (embedding blocked though :(

waiting eagerly mission! i'd be drunk already if i didn't have to pick someone up at 5pm :( wallabies + broncos mean today is a great day for gettin your drink on.

haha demon, as long as everyone understands that it's light-hearted banter then it's all good. i definitely don't advocate arguing seriously over something as subjective as music, but as long as everyone's laughing i don't care if i or someone else get called a homo in the process :D

so as to not break my own rules in the op here's another band a mate turned me onto recently, they're also getting cained by the j's:

edit: epic teebee track. like i said i don't always keep up to date with the happenings in dnb but i was really s***ty i missed him with calyx when he last played at moonbar. would have been about a year ago now :(
