Google has released v3 of their browser Chrome in celebration of a birthday or something. Personally I still use IE8 since I'm too lazy to install extra browsers but will give this a go although I'd prefer Google spend time developing a Linux or OSX version of the browser.

I use Chrome and it's great.
Only issue I have is sometimes it doesn't display pop up windows on some sites. Bit hard to explain but when I open the site in IE it's fine but in Chrome the link (to open the pop up - such as a log in screen) won't work. This only happens rarely and it may just be a setting on my machine... I've never looked into it. But other than that she's all good. |

Yeah I use chrome too and love it. Only real issue I have with it is msn not able to open links in chrome. Instead it uses IE8 which I hate.

I use Chrome too, it's awesome. Though, I have mine set to the develeoper's channel, so my build is past 4.0.

I've been using Chrome v4 of late. They finally added a Home button! Plus bookmark sync using your Google/Gmail account through Google Docs. Just press sync, login, and you're done!

but always have little issues that dont work correctly, Nah those browsers are more standard than IE! IE is vendor-lock in at its worst. |

IE is vendor-lock in at its worst I just couldn't go past this. IE vendor lock-in is nothing compared to iPhone OS lock-in. Or does it not count because its just a phone? |

Microsoft changes standards then everyone has to screw around making things work in browsers and IE separately instead of just using standards.. iPhone is a proprietary phone with proprietary firmware and proprietary user requirements. Way to go with that comparison... |

Microsoft changes standards then everyone has to screw around making things work in browsers and IE separately instead of just using standards IE8 is the most standards-compliant browser MS have released to date, with a s***load of changes specifically targetting XHTML and CSS 2.1. 8 is more standards compliant than earlier versions. Why is it OK for Apple to be proprietary while MS must be open and standards-based? Internet Explorer is proprietary software, just like the iPhone OS. Also IE8 gave the world Porn Mode, for which we should be at least a little thankful! last edited by Hogfather at 23:42:51 16/Sep/09 |

Didn't Chrome come out before IE8? Chrome has had porn mode since it was released.

IE8 is the most standards-compliant browser MS have released to date, with a s***load of changes specifically targetting XHTML and CSS 2.1. 8 is more standards compliant than earlier versions. Well IE8 is ok I was more talking about IE6 (possibly IE7 i dont know). Why is it OK for Apple to be proprietary while MS must be open and standards-based? Internet Explorer is proprietary software, just like the iPhone OS. Do you even know what you're talking about? IE8 is an Internet browser, of which HTML etc etc is standardised. What Microsoft went and did was make proprietary changes to the standard and people got "vendor locked" into having to use IE6 over other Internet browsers. Some of the smallest things being various CSS issues only found in IE yet all other browsers work as expected. This has absolutely nothing to do with a proprietary mobile device with shock-horror, proprietary requirements. last edited by 3dee at 00:15:43 17/Sep/09 |

Where? Go into options and select "Show the Home button on the toolbar." The option has always been there, it's probably just enabled by default now. |
