For anybody that cares http://lite.facebook.com/ was launched last week in the US and is now available in Australia.

Facebook Lite is a fast-loading, simplified alternative view of Facebook.com that loads a specific set of features quickly and efficiently, the company says.

Seems to be okay.

In other news you can mention a persons name using the @ symbol (@FirstnameLastname) in facebook updates and comments and people will be 'tagged'.

I just can't figure out why Facebook doesn't buy Twitter and just get it over with. Seems like they're this jealous stalker who covets everything the other person has/is and does what they can to be exactly like them...
