Is it just me or is this thing f***ing awful? I know its new and all and the luddite in me hates change, but it just feels slow (Flash overload), bloated, woefully designed and hard to use.

Well first impressions last, and the 30 second load time didn't exactly inspire confidence.

Also, I hate flash. So much.

Half the flash menus don't even do anything, the site is slow as hell and the prices are still absolute crap

Does this smell like BCC has lost business in the last few months and are trying to rebrand? I've certainly stopped going there.

BCC are a rip off and that's the slowest loading website in history. f*** them both.

I came across it the other night trying to find movie times, my local cinema isn't even listed on it anymore which leads me to believe they're too good for that POS website.

Isnt that the place where you pay extra to buy tickets from a web site ?
Thats a winning business model.

you pay $1 extra for buying tickets on the cineplex site too. better than rocking up and finding out the session is sold out.

Do sessions actually sell out anymore ?
Are movies still popular ?

havent been for a while.
Just rather watch a DVD on Widescreen TV.
Wtf is up with not being able to choose your seats ?

Ive tried that site 3 times now and it just doesnt load.
the IE bar goes all the way but just hangs

The seat thing is stupid. I remember when tickets were 5 bucks and you'd just go and sit wherever you wanted and the whole experience was fairly laid back and easy.

Now seeing a movie is a big organised 2 hour investment and you actually have to think about whether you want to fork out the money to see it (even if its totally awesome movie).

you guys must go to retarded cinemas. none of the cineplex cinemas have allocated seating, plus tickets are half the price of bcc tickets.

cineplex is made of win. you can get movies and food/drinks for the same price as a ticket only at BCC.

Tell me about it.

A friend tells me well they make it up by giving you every 11th movie free, but you have paid for it anyways.

If you book tickets through BCC/Event website it's $1 per ticket, not $1 all up. Greedy rip off c***s, if they rebranded the price along with the rebranding then maybe they'll get more patronage.

As i see BCC as the telstra for cinemas (the s***test and most expensive and they don't give a s***) i refuse to go to them, instead i prefer AMC. Cheaper, nicer, better, and oh look! Not just stereo sound!

Birch/Event are s***E. My local is the indro one and haven't been there in years. s***house prices and seat allocations blow.

I then started going to the Cineplex ones which were great for price and candy bar. Stopped going to the Southbank one due to; a) always sold out, and b) aggressive ethnics talking on their mobile phones at full volume during the movie.

I now go to Eldorado 8 at indro and couldn't be happier - there's hardly anyone in the sessions even for new releases and reasonable pricing. Kind of mid-range prices between cineplex and birch/event, but well worth it for the empty cinemas.

^ yeah southbank is a joke, they need more cinemas there.

I usually go to Balmoral (or Hawthorne if really desperate). Can usually find a park with 5~ min walk tops (free park). And cheap tickets!

Yeah, but Eldorado 8's days are numbered aren't they? Making way for more apartment blocks. sarcastic yay.

The new site looks horrible. There's just way too much s*** happening on there that doesn't need to be.

What's the problem with allocated seating? You rock up maybe 20-30 minutes early, get your ticket, head to the food court for a feed or to Coles for cheap snacks.

Nathan at work found out the new place will include the cinemas still, hopefully it's true! But still, there'll be a gap while they demolish and rebuild.

I reckon this is even worse than it used to be. Flash is something that 15yo's use for their highschool web assignments and has no place on professional ecommerce websites.

I wonder if they fixed the bug where booking more than 8 seats at once would cause the whole purchase process to come crashing down in a screaming heap... Somehow I doubt it.
