This is why I hate the Internet. That should have been a one page post that I could have read in 30 seconds. Instead its a SEVEN MINUTE VIDEO. I watched about 10 seconds, skipped to the end, and gave up.

Seriously, informational density, think about it before you commit something to video

no way

the video added to the comedy of it plus it allowed it to go viral

I quite liked the editing though. How some words came in, disappeared, etc. It built up to the climax nicely imo.

I'm with trog. That vid was f***ing painful. And the bloke that made it, clearly a f***ing wanker. Who goes to Europe and doesn't call their missus at the very worst in the first 2-3 days. Lame.

AVG had a massive spaz about this page containing a PDF exploit when I opened it.

If he's honest about his claim of talking about it beforehand and even calling the night before he left, I don't see anything wrong. It's how I'd expect a mature adult to behave. Anyone who can't handle two weeks without hearing from their significant other needs to get their emotions in check.

No they don't. It would be quite normal considering how easy, cheap and accesible multiple communication methods are. The opposite is true of this guy - he's fishing for the outcome; or it's fake.

And on the OP, the funniest thing in that post is that someone signed up for a 6 month *trial* :-/ Although a quick Googles shows that Visy at least has a 6 month probationary period - although they lost this unfair dismissal case.

Notwithstanding the availability of methods, the guy did nothing wrong. He told his girlfriend he was going away, rang her the night before. You could argue that he actually went on holiday because he left everything behind (but still bought her a necklace).

So I have fixed this for you Pinky:

Anyone who can't handle two weeks without hearing from their significant other needs to get their emotions in check because they're not living their own life.

Under the Fair Work system, (correct me if I am wrong) the minimum term of employment is 6 months, even if probation is only specified as 3 months, which affects an employee's ability to bring a claim for unfair dismissal, ie they can't within the first 6 months of their employment, subject to some exceptions.

Firstly he said it happened a few years ago, and secondly maybe he didnt want to spend his holiday talking to people he sees every day?

Ah well, I dunno what relationships you guys are having, but as much as I like my personal space I can guarantee that I wouldn't go for 2 weeks O/S without calling my missus to see what's going on.

And Triamks, it has nothing to do with 'living your their own life' or 'emotions'. It's just keeping in touch with friends. s***, I wouldn't go 2 weeks without speaking to my best mates, much less my missus.

Yeah it is a bit strange, if I was going overseas my gf would be at the airport watching the plane fly away.

I probably wouldn't either but my sole motivation for doing so wouldn't be just because I'm in a relationship with her, I'd want to do it or I'd want to be a nerd and try to find/use the cheapest good method possible, ie VOIP. However, that doesn't change the fact that I probably could go 2 weeks without contacting my partner or friends, if I had/needed to. It'll be good practise for when they're dead and I'm still alive, won't be able to contact them then.

I recently got back from the cape which was just over 3week round trip. Called home once (from the top). No GF though so, if I didn't take her with me on the holiday, I probably would of called her once or twice... if I could find a phone/reception.

If you couldn't go 2 weeks without having a chat to your mates you need to man up.
