The only place in brisbane is the ones at yatala. Not quite brisbane but it's the only ones in the area.

And highly recommended

A drive-in? seriously why? The novelty wears off pretty quickly.

I went to the drive-in movies for the first time 3 weeks ago
i went to the 9pm session at yatala on a sunday night.
i found it to be excellent. my falcon seats are almost lounge chairs anyway, recline them a bit, works well. Tune the radio into the frequency, windows up, make as much noise opening packets/laughing/talking as you like. Can't hear another person too. Plus it was only $10 per person. I'll definitely be going again. I think the secret is to not go on a friday or saturday night.

Went last friday, kinda sucked a bit with a couple of light showers but I hadn't been since I was a kid and still enjoyed myself. I think the best part is not hearing anyone else and just being in your own little world. Can even have sex without anyone worrying.

I'm officially a Southsider now so Yatala's not too far away anymore. Would have preferred driving back to Aspley though

waiting for the 'SPOTTED: MJ AT YATALA' thread...

it's been yeeears since I've been to a drive in.

Can ya still have a smoke on the site these days or has that changed?

Fair enough it's a 40min drive down there, but that's nothing considering the hours I've tolerated standing along side drunk peeps @3am in the city just waiting for a taxi after work

link ?

Also I originally started going to the drive in for a novelty however now with a newborn it makes heaps more sense to go to the drive-in instead of pissing everyone else off in a cinema.

Depends. If you've got a "fuleh shik yuleh" 4 sub setup with little attention to anything else it'll sound like trash. Sounded OK in the GF's car with one sub and some kicker and kenwood gear.

I kept thinking I should turn it down though to not disturb people even though they where watching the same movie as me haha.

I used to love the drivein, used to goto the one in richlands - that one was good, wish it was still there. I remember one time the queue was so big our old gemini overheated in the lineup to get in and I had to push the thing though the booth to pay ahah
