Tried on a few different computers now, can't access gmail or yahoo email (I don't have yahoo, but can't even get to the login page). Interestingly, I CAN access hotmail... and remember UQ recently shifted all their email to MSN accounts??? I hate to sound like Faceman, but is this a consipiracy in the works?
Because I am totally IT-illiterate, is there are more rational explanation for why gmail/facebook/yahoo won't load, while the internet is still obviously running fine, and I can google things like "bikini babes"? |

you could try this billy:
sign up for a google account; login to www.google.com/ig add the gmail applet access gmail, without accessing www.gmail.com which is usually what gets blocked; note: you need a google account, not just a gmail account; |

When I was at UQ you could only access personal email websites on certain computers, typically ones with longer access time.
If theres only a couple of things I prefer at Griffith over UQ, one is that I can access any website any time on any computer. |

I already have a google account. It's ok, everything seems to be working now. The best we can figure is that IT were mucking about and seeing if they can block specific computers - ppl on other levels didn't have a problem.

Well... technically jmr is correct cause I'm not officially enrolled at the moment. It's a good excuse to take frequent, long coffee breaks.
But yes, I am still studying. |
