This looks like it has a lot more fights, explosions, action and naked robert downey jr than I remember Sherlock Holmes traditionally having. Not that theres anything wrong with that.

Actually pretty much that whole statement is wrong in the books, he is messy, he does do drugs, and he does know how to fight.

Yeah it's really odd how people see Sherlock Holmes (a gentlemen) when in truth he was probably a degenerate.

Sherlock Holmes is fictional, and yes he was addicted to drugs.

This is funny because just the other week I was saying it would be a cool idea to make a 'realistic' holmes movie.

But like many other punters I haven't read any of the original novels. I've only watched a few Sherlock Holmes movies and I can't recall any coke-snorting and pommy ninja moves.

Wow, I never knew that about Holmes, I've never read any of the books either and I guess I bought into the straight, victorian english gentleman persona that hes so often portrayed with.
