Ubisoft Australia (who look after Square-Enix here) have revealed a special collector's edition of Sqeenix's Star Ocean (that former AusGamers employee B2 worked on). The four disc limited edition includes:
  • Bonus music CD, "STAR OCEAN SOUND BEST COLLECTION" featuring around 60mins of specially selected music from across the STAR OCEAN series.
  • The game will be on three DVDs = 40-100hrs of gameplay.
  • Mini strategy guide, 32 pages in length – containing initial walkthrough information and hints/tips. Full colour.
  • 5x anime style character artwork cards printed litho style.
  • All extras to be contained in a special gatefold packaging, comprising a bespoke 'digistack' box to hold the four discs.
To get a better look at what you'll find in the collector's pack, hit this link.

Not a blockbuster special edition but ok I suppose none the less. Hoping this gets a release on the PS3 in which case i'd pick it up.

Compared to other jrpgs, i liked star ocean till the end of time on PS2. Mostly the combat system appealed to my like of big numbers and button mashing my way to combo glory.

I hope this game is similar, I didn't mind the really unlikeable story just because doing the arena stuff was fun at the end.
