What's with ch10 and all their sport s*** and ch9 now playing mostly sport. So much for all these new digital channels giving us more to watch (though I never believed it would). So now the only station not showing sport the majority of the time is ch7 and what shows do they have?

The link has changed in the meantime I think. Now it says that ch 10 is denying it's going to axe the simpsons.

I would say the networks are going sports mad because their statistics are showing them that sporting events/shows ratings haven't suffered at all in recent times due to internet downloads; where as tv shows are being hit very hard.

yeah cause sport is the only thing not affected by downloads, so they show more sport, instead of fixing the reason people are downloading, whicha are obvious to most people.

So eventually tv channels won't bother showing any shows other than sport, leading to yet MORE people pirating stuff because they can't watch it any other way.

Simpsons is now only a shadow of what it used to be.

Considering that any normal channel shows only 10 mins of real news every night, and normally they spend on average another 10 mins on some f***stick football scandal. I guess now with 90 mins of news they can spend 30 mins talking more about the f***ing Bronco's and what bad s*** they did on the weekend.

7 has Today Tonight, 9 has ACA...

You're right snakeman - a typical evening of ten's late news amounts to 5 minutes of headline stories and then 10 minutes of in-depth investigation into why the latest fashion at blahdeeblah show are so full of marxist, socialist undertones and whether the models are too thin.

A quick flick over to world news and you can chuckle with amusement at SBS's crazyness at reporting insignificant events like Sri Lanka tearing itself apart, etc.

Then in the morning if you turn on either sunrise or today at two minutes past the hour or half-hour, sorry, you've missed all the news worth reporting and get to listen to seven minutes of inane comments by some weather "expert" poncing about the countryside with the ubiquitous locals waving in the background.

They don't put the decent shows on at decent times. I remember when they use to often have an "epic" show like Lost or Prison Break or whatever on Thursdays at 830. now its f***en Law and order.

Urr... I read that the story was denied by 10. They had just shot pilots, and had no intention of changing at the moment.

Probably a publicity stunt to get more people watching the Simpson's in case it does get cut.

The only thing that annoys me is that there is 20 seasons of the simpsons from them to play from but fox 8 also runs futurama twice a day and there is only 5 seasons to pick from!

end of an era imo, RIP 6pm channel 10 simpsons :(
