Gotta agree with MrH. He could have just hit stuff completely randomly and it still probably would have sounded just as good (or bad).

Umm yes... because drumming is just that easy. He's an awesome drummer. I can't for the life of me hit stuff and kick things at the same time.

He's an awesome drummer, but I'd hate to play in a band with this guy, he'd just be breaking out with ridiculous fills all the time.

All the drumming videos on youtube have the guy drumming along to the song, so you can't really tell if their drumming would be recognisable without the tune.

Well yeah. Its not the song's drum beats (obviously). But he plays the drums he made pretty f***en tight.
