The first screenshots from BioShock 2 have found their way online, offering a good look at the hotly anticipated sequel from 2K Games.

Prior to this we've only been offered a vague teaser trailer and a cryptic official site so there's still not a whole lot of information on offer. Today's images however, do at least confirm that the game which is reportedly set 10 years after the original, will once again feature plenty of subaquatic antics in the city of Rapture.

BioShock 2 is due some time in the third quarter of 2009 on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Looks like it's shaping up well.

Underwater again? I was hoping for some jungle action.

Well supposedly you play as a Big Daddy, or a prototype one or something, which seems to be confirmed in those shots. Since you're a giant dude in a diving suit, you'd want to hope there would be outdoor sections (which also seem to be confirmed in those screens). Doesn't look like there's any dry land action yet though.

Yay, playing as a big daddy and escorting little sisters for the entire game. Sounds awesome!
