Anyone ever cracked open a Toshiba Satellite A100? I've got one with a suspected bung HDD but I can't figure out how to get it out. Google tells me Toshiba doesn't like people dicking with the HDDs so they're somewhat complicated to remove - at a glance it looks like I have to pretty much pull the whole thing apart. None of the user manuals I can find have any sort of useful maintenance instructions.

Yea I've pulled one out, wasnt hard. (would remember how if i was looking at it.)

Was a waste of time for me tho, as it uses a smaller hdd that the usual 2.5" drive.

Where do you work eP?

There are several variant sizes in 2.5" HDD's
Some of the newer ones are too thick to fit into a standard USB caddy.

never seen a 1.8" drive?
get with the program, they're not new.
