She named the little boy Zachary. Filmmaker Kurt Kuenne, Andrew’s oldest friend, began making a film for little Zachary as a way for him to get to know the father he’d never meet. But when Shirley Turner was released on bail in Canada and was given custody of Zachary while awaiting extradition to the U.S., the film’s focus shifted to Zachary’s grandparents, David & Kathleen Bagby, and their desperate efforts to win custody of the boy from the woman they knew had murdered their son. What happened next, no one ever could have foreseen…

Just had a look for it but my local video store didn't have any copies in store and there was lots of other people trying to hire it out as well.

How heart breaking and life changing.

Have you actually watched the doco or did you just read the first post (or maybe not even that much).

The father was incredibly restrained and patient. Having had my hands tied in a similar way it is infuriating and you feel helpless. He was a tower of strength for his family and I don't know many people who could do what he did.

You do whatever you can to protect the ones you love and to have to hand over your child to someone who has hurt you and proven to be a danger is earth shattering.
