We have a guy who is heading back to full-time uni in a month or 2 so we need to replace him here at Q2 Solutions in Milton. We will initially start with what he does (client support and development testing) but then possibly hire another person and split his job into the 2 different areas. So anyone who is looking for a job that does not require any real experience in software development, this might be for you. You will be trained in the software that we develop and sell so no real experience is required. You will then act as 3rd level support between our support staff and our developers so you won't get hassled with the basic boring stuff that gets asked 100 times a day by clients. You just get the tricky stuff and help the developers by collecting information about problem and talking to clients/support and testing yourself to confirm bug and how to reproduce it. The other side is the testing. You will lead the testing of our yearly release. That basically means doing up test plans and all that stuff and keeping on top of bugs and if they have been fixed. We use Team Foundation Server so thats pretty easy. As for the company, Q2 Solutions are an awesome company to work for. I have been hear nearly 4 years now and have no plans on leaving anytime soon. You will get a nice desk next to a big window that overlooks Milton/Coro Drive/River and will work with a great bunch of guys and girls. Q2 Solutions is a medium sized company that is growing fast. There is a lot of money behind it and the bosses treat their employees well, very well. The work drinks are always awesome. Anyways, thats about it. Don't ask about pay as i have no idea but no harm in sending your resume and finding out for yourselves. I am sure if you have some experience you could sort out a nice wage. If you happen to have any .NET (mainly ASP.NET) development experience, then you will have a very good chance at the job as we could always use someone that knows how us developers think. Any database experience would be awesome too. So if you are looking for a job or just curious as to whats out there, Q2 Solutions is a great company to advance your career in. Send your resumes to zane[fAT cAT in a hAT sAT on a rAT]q2solutions[dotcomdotau] (Zane Knight, my boss) as soon as you can as we want someone to start very soon. And as i said, this role my split and we will need another person (skills for 2nd job will depend on who we hire this time). Ok, thats it. I guess i better do some work. p.s. I am typing this on one of the new 22" widescreen LCDs that the boss just got today for us developers to go with the 19" LCDs we were using. Mmm, dual. |

Mantis, can I recommend obfuscating the email address in your post ; spambot harvesters frequent this forum and that email address will quickly get scraped and abused |

Yeah, i wondered about that. But then again, his spam blocker was getting so much spam anyways that i wrote a service to run on our exchange server that went through the spam report and filtered out common spam. Else he was getting a spam report with hundreds that were blocked and there was no way to see if something that was meant to get through was there.
I'll change it now. However, we are trying to get the word out to as many people as possible and i hear SPAM is a great method of doing this. If it wasn't for SPAM i would not have been able to add 3 inches to my schlong every year for the last 10 years. last edited by Mantis at 17:23:05 06/Jan/09 |

The person who advertised the job fails, there is no indication of pay. I believe it should be law that a min-max pay be given or something that resembles that.

People always complain when pay is not mentioned for full-time work.
It completely depends on what you can do for the company. If you come in with no experience you won't get as much as someone with 10 years experience. So for all those people, min is $1, max is $1,000,000 an hour. You'll get somewhere between that. Happy? It costs nothing to send resume and apply and if you like the sounds of the job, it doesn't cost much time/money to come to an interview where you can discuss pay based on what you can do. Corrupt, ahh. |
