soo... my car died on the way to work a couple of weeks ago.
RIP old Holden Nova. I grabbed a Honda Prelude that was handy to keep me going for the time being, but as it turns out the car only has a cd player with no aux imput. what's a free cd burning proggy that will convert existing mp3's to oldskool cd format. fm radio is killing me... any other options welcome. I don't have the time to leave my car anywhere for a day at a stereo shop getting it refitted with a modern head unit though :( |

Fm transmitter for an mp3 player??? I think griffin or belkin or someone does one that just plugs into any old 3.5mm jack and broadcasts at whatever frequency you set it, I think the best in qld for those little things is 88.1 or something close to that

nero offers a trial version if you want to install all their bloat, burn a cd then uninstall it. I don't know how much crap it would leave behind though.
You can also use windows media player to burn cds, I do it all the time (yes normal audio cds). |

Lifehacker did an article a few weeks ago about the 5 best cd burning apps around atm, looks like CDBurnerXP is on the list, haven't used it before so I might have to give it a shot since my nero cd snapped recently.

Another vote for CDBurnerXP. That said, the fm transmitter is a better option. You can't get that many tracks on a cd and there's nothing worse than changing cds while fighting traffic. |

Install a new head unit yourself. Find a wire harness adapter for your car, and you should be able to do it in less than an hour.

Windows media player converts MP3s to CD and burns them, what's wrong with that?

If you don't mind waiting a few days, then this is a pretty cheap option:
Kensington Liquid FM Universal MP3 Modulator Works with any device with a regular 3.5mm/2.5mm audio output. iPods, Mp3 players, iPhone and Mp3 capable phones included! http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/ You'll have to get in by 11am though 'coz that's when the new daily deal is put up. |

If you have XP or vista, just go into the folder with the album and click copy all items to an audio cd, it will use windows media player and make and audio cd.
