Teams of gunmen stormed luxury hotels, a popular restaurant, a crowded train station and a Jewish center, killing at least 101 people and holding Westerners hostage in coordinated attacks on India's commercial center that were blamed on Muslim militants.

my girl goes to mumbai in 4 weeks. she is over in india for 5 weeks.

i guess it is a safe as it will every be a couple weeks AFTER a terrorist attack.

either way i guess you cant live in fear or terrorism has beaten you already.

Being half Indian one whole side of my family is over there, and my mum (from the other side of my family) flew over last Thursday. None of them should be in Mumbai however, so they should all be ok.

The attacks have been escalating lately, but this is by far the worst incident I know of for quite some time.

this is done in the name of jihad. if you have not read the koran you would not understand how vital it is to kill infidels.

spilling their blood is the ultimate honour.

I'm having trouble finding that in the Koran Infi, can you quote the passage?

What you've said there was said in the name of prejudice and bigotry. If you have not read infi previous comments about mulims on this forum than you will not understand just how ignorant this person is. Dribbling s*** is ultimately what he does best.

Is there a website that has like, an overview of what has been happening? I missed the news and abc.net.au just has a thousand random f***ing stories, so it's really hard to get a general overview of what was going on.

With that comment infi is basically falsely accusing the entire religion of advocating the spilling of blood of the innocent merely due to a minority's perception or ideology.

It's like me saying all Australians are homosexuals because there are some people that are in fact homos and some think there's nothing wrong with it, hence labeling them all homos.

His post is nuke worthy if you ask me.

no i wasn't agreeing, but infi clearly wasn't saying what you've taken offense to. it was dripping with sarcasm or at least i read it that way. infi might be a bigot but i don't seriously think he was suggesting the koran says to kill is honourable.

the thing is though, extremists do use the koran as justification for killing, even if the majority think it condemns them for it. i don't understand why we don't hear more from muslim clerics, etc saying this.

Am I a racist for not being able to take Indian/Pakistani terrorists seriously?

I mean you think of dudes in the middle east being badass and f***ing crazy as hell, likewise South Africa and South America an stuff.

But something about Paki/Indians just never comes across as scary, even if they are waving AK-47s around. Always feels like theyre a bunch of tech support nerds playing at Dying For A Belief, using cheap USB devices to trigger bombs and getting escalated to level 3 tech support when the gun jams.

Chinese and Korean too. f***ing nerd armies.

Just sayin

infi is on the right track, all the peace and love stuff in the Koran is towards other muslims. Only other muslims are considered real people to which the rights and responsibilities apply. Everyone else is a peon and you can do them what you wish. It's like that in judaism and even scientology too.

Of course modern day people pick and choose which parts of the religion they believe, so a lot of modern religious people have reinterpreted the 'thy neighbour' stuff to mean 'every human' but the zealots and extremists will continue to believe they are the holy people and everybody else is a threat, etc...

How's that saying go about one man's terrorist is another man's saint. To us it seems horrible but to them is justified, it's all a matter of opinion. Life is precious to us but it is cheap to them and we will have to keep paying the price.

I didn't say that infi said that killing is honorable. I said that he said that the quran says that killing the infidel is honorable. The people that were killed in this incident were innocent so why is he even bringing up the point about the quran commanding muslims to kill infidels?

You also say that he might be a bigot yet his post drips of sarcasm. It is more than likely that it isn't sarcasm cause he is the bigot that he is and your sarcasm detector is clearly broken. I'm still waiting for the proof that he was meant to come up with in regards to the Quran stating that killing the infidel is honorable.

"Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you."

Verse 9:123

I know, what i originally said was not a true representation of the muslim faith, and i have nothing at all against muslims. all religion is equally crazy and retarded in my eyes.

but the reason i did say it was, i would imagine that is whatever gutless muslim leader was saying to these soldiers of god before they departed on their attack.

as such these incidents are not a reflection on the religion of Islam. it is a reflection on the individuals preaching these twisted messages of hate.

And people who are murderous interpret infidel incorrectly and then kill people.

The problem is with people being murderous and insane, not with the religion itself.

Yep, i'd thought you'd be one of those that would quote the most commonly misinterpreted verse. Why do you chose to quote that verse and not quote the verse that indicates that those who peacefully coexist with muslims are entitled to just and kind treatment? is it because you're a bigot or is it because you're ignorant and you just don't know? look up the verse: Surra 60 verse 7.

In regards to the verse you quoted, that verse was revealed for a particular time and situation when the Muslims were living amongst non muslim neighbours who were hostile towards the them and threatened their existence. The verse tells muslims to defend themselves against said aggressors. This is does not mean that you need to wage war against all of your non muslim neighbours, as you've understood it.

I'm a muslim and I don't claim to know everything about the quran yet here you are quoting a verse to justify your limited stereotypical understanding of what has been fed to you by the media.

I am not the one misinterpreting it! I did not study it. I do not believe in it or adhere to it as a way of life.

I was discussing this with my gf the other day and she used the Christian example of KKK in america burning down houses of blacks, and then people from the local church coming to put the fires out.

And I love how people who get the slightest bit offended just cart out the good old "bigot" term. I don't think I have ever called anyone a bigot. I guess it depends whether you're inclined to get easily offended, or whether you enjoy a bit of robust discussion.

I am sorry if you think I am a bigot. I am just fascinated by religion in general.

that's probably because you're the one always doing all the 'bigoting' AMIRITE?

Anyway as Trog said it's hard to tell if you were being serious or you were just trolling but what you were saying was pretty big and the fact that you put forward 'evidence' to back up your false claims could sway a lot of people to believe you. That's why i had respond back with a serious comment either way. That does not mean I'm easily offended (not in person anyway, maybe i am online for obvious reasons).

Here's a writeup on Sura 60: Blogging the Qur’an: Sura 60, “She Who Is Tested”. A bit past halfway it gets to v7.

But then Muhammad received this sura, which takes Hatib to task for taking as his friends the enemies of Allah (v. 1) and tells him that his relatives will not help him on the Day of Judgment (v. 3). He, and Muslims generally, should emulate Abraham’s hatred of his unbelieving relatives, and not his forgiveness of them (v. 4).

Nevertheless, Allah holds out the possibility that one day the Muslims and the Quraysh will reconcile (v. 7) and tells the Muslims that they are not forbidden to deal kindly and justly with those among the Quraysh who have not fought them (v. 8) – that is, says Ibn Kathir, “those who did not have a role in your expulsion,” the expulsion of the Muslims from Mecca. But they must not turn in friendship to those who did fight against them (v. 9). This passage has been invoked by jihadists today to justify what they describe as a defensive jihad against the United States, which is, in their view, fighting against Muslims.

I even said that in the f***ing nuke reason. I'm honestly flabbergasted that you'd even make a post like that

India cant afford a War right now.

Strange that Pakistan has said it will move troops from the tribal zone where they are "hunting taliban"
Thats a big F.U. to America.

I smell a Conspiracy...
This attack had what desired outcome ?
India to do the dirty work and take out Pakistan ?
If India build up again like 2001 it will be on.
Or
A combined India/US strike on Pakistan leaving Iran surrounded.
2 problems solved with one attack.

Only one State could have come up with a plan as devious as that.

Seeing the guys who did this somehow brings it home even more. They seem like every day people. These are taken from the site Trog linked to.

They are carrying Kalashnikov's and none of the Indian police or commando's use these.
