I just found this while looking at Some PS3 Sites, sorry for starting a new thread but I didn't want to be shot down for reviving a old one.

theres no hope until Michael Atikinson dies in a horrible porn fire because the system can only change with the full consent of each state and territory attorney-general

On another note here is another article regarding the recent survey by the IEAA ...this one suggests that the attorney generals for both State and federal will be discussing it at this months meeting

I haven't got a psp for myself so i really don't have any ideas about how "bold" do these R+18 games were.

Does anyone seriously believe that 91% of the population thinks R18+ games should be available for sale?

I doubt 91% of the population even want R18 movies for sale.

I don't know that they would want to buy them, but I would see a lot of people not liking the idea of being told what they can and can't buy by the govt. 91% seems a bit high though...

oh and this is where they got the data from http://www.yourvoice.com.au/au/

people who signed up to win stuff (on the internet), sample was selected based on those who best fit the criteria of what is representative of the general population.

an 65 y/o who signs up to an internet site to win prizes isn't exactly an average 65 year old.

methods are briefly listed here

they don't, as best i can tell, list what defines a gamer. i'm presuming its self determined.

Here in the Philippines it is not an issue actually. As a matter of fact, the government here doesn't really care about the video games. They're more concern about the television shows, and the movies because nowadays, the shows are getting a bit spicier.

Things go from open discussion to denial.

“We’ll continue to work with government and policy advisors and various departments to maintain it on the agenda,” Curry said. To us, what it seems like is that Mr. Atkinson is actually censoring debate on censorship, and there’s a whole lot of irony in that,” Curry said of Atkinson’s decision. “We’re going to try and put the paper forward again as soon as possible.”
