thought there was gonna be a line up so I went early (Note: burwood had over 100 pre orders)

took a day off work for this haha!!
anyway

got home at around 0:30..install...
started playing at 10am.......stopped at 2pm coz i was hungry HAHAHAHA
danm I'm a nerd...anyway

anybody here getting annoyed with the long travels ?
also...i wantt diamonds !!! i dun wanna find em!!!! lols
anybody gotta trainer or a way to get more diamonds for free/easy ?
cheathappens has one already but its for unlimitied users..meh..anyway

sux how we can't add on scopes or attatchments....and also sux how u can't hold a sniper rifle while having like an M4A1 or MP5..

Hey geoff. I just played a couple of hours of far cry2 and deadspace... I reckon single player games are f***en boring. Bring on some coop left 4 dead and red alert 3 lan action.

Deadspace seems really cool - it is resident evil 4 style gaming. Really similar environment to doom3.

I just seem to get bored with single player games quite easily.

yeah lol i got farcry2 last night when i got home from work, how much did you pay? harveys have it for $76 lol

I'm bored of the long drives through the desert and its worse when the enemy blows up my jeep lol coz then I gotta walk lol. One time I was like, looking for this diamond and I'm like where the hell did I leave my car lol so there I was running around for 10 minutes looking for my car. lol.

As for diamonds, I find them by accident, I just drive around with my eye on the gps and when it starts to flash I just get out and walk around with my map in my hand. It's a pain when you're running around with a map and can't see much and an enemy truck tries to run over you. lol. You hear this revving noise then a car is almost on top of you. rofl.

I'm more into forests and bushes that I can hide in and sneak up on people, none of this desert sand s***, nowhere for me to hide lol.

I turned off bloom, because with it on all I could see was white... everywhere :s

Pisses me off how fast they respawn. Clear an area out, walk off for 30 seconds next thing their all back blocking the crossroads again. Also would have preferred to be able to choose say any two weapons i wanted rather than their handgun/rifle/special setup. Once i pickup a sniper i'm no longer allowed to have any assault rifles yet i can still carry an rpg launcher.

Looks nice though!

the more i play this game the more i f***ing hate it. I was supposed to take out a weapon convoy, so i thought sweet, I'll put ied's on the route they take then when the truck rolls over them i will blow them up. Truck comes through, hits my mine big explosion etc but the truck kept on driving like nothing happened?

So i waited till it came back again and put another ied down, but the first truck came down, stopped and they all got out and started shooting at me. So i got my rpg, fired it at the truck but the rocket decided it was going to hang in mid air in front of my face and after 5 seconds blow up.

Dead Space is my game of the year right now. Trying to finish it before Fallout 3 comes out. I love my single player games.

I'll buy Far Cry 2 to have a blast after Fallout 3 - if I don't like it, I'll take it back to EB.

1 Get some generic mission to go somewhere and kill somebody
2 Drive through multiple checkpoints and get chased by enemy in vehicle
3 Swap to turret on vehicle and kill chasing vehicle
4 Repair your jeep/truck
5 Attempt to drive away, maybe going back to point 3 several times.
6 Rinse and Repeat..............

If you really HAVE to buy it, its on steam for $54....

Yeah I'm feeling the same way about it, I hardly ever play a single player game all the way through, I'm pretty sure quake2 and crysis are the only two games I've ever finished (FPS anyway, racing games don't count). Haven't bothered trying MP yet, maybe I'll just uninstall it & sell it. It just doesn't tickle me like other games did/do.

running average 35fps...min at 30..max at 60 - 70 when i look at the sky...max at 50ish when its not that hectic..

Gave up after the first mission where you need to rescue the captive and you need to go back to that guy who lives in a meat shop for payment... wow, lol 1st mission into the game utterly sucks and is completely un-original in this day and age- can't imagine what the rest is going to be like, lol.

just keep playing...it gets way better...trust me...

but then t gets abit boring..but just getta trainer and get 999 diamonds...and get all teh guns hahaha

Had to post this because I laughed so much when I saw this

I dunno DM, looks like he's trying to out do this chick:

am over 50% through they game, still waiting for something to make me think "wow" they've done something new,
have had a 3 hour stint at multiplayer, issues so far:

* Cant join a game once map is started
* After every map you get dumped back to start menu
* Have no way of telling which server is which, you get name of map and number of players displayed only.
* Bug where you throw nade and its doesn't explode until you finish healing.
* 3rd unlocked sniper rifle is totally over powered, mp5 takes 10 hits to kill, sniper takes 1.....
* Totally unoriginal gameplay..

I think the game designer should be sacked, there is no way this game (hmm simulation perhaps) should have been let out the door, seems totally devoid of any inspiration or innovation.

I have to agree with the overpower/underpowered weapons.

In single player, I use the silenced pistol and have an semi-auto sniper rifle. Sometimes the Dart rifle or rocket launcher as my special weapon.

I only bother doing head shots with the pistol and why would you use anything else other then the sniper rifle that is a 1 hit kill weapon compared to automagic weapons that take heaps (unless u head shot).

I also find the game a little too easy. I used to sneak up on the check points, now I just drive right in then hop out of my buggy. Pop a few guys in the head and checkpoint is done with minimal health loss.

It is pretty though.
