Pretty much every week at AusGamers we roll out a series of changes to the site. Generally these are pretty small - minor tweaks to the interface, little bug fixes, that sort of thing, but sometimes we add some pretty neat things that are worth a mention.

Today's update adds a couple of oft-requested bits to the forum, including new private message notification and a new subscribed threads page which gives you a handy list of all the threads you've subscribed to.

This actually follows a series of big updates to the forums, including an all-new forum-specific interface which removes a bit of the fluff from the page making it easier to use, and combines all the sub-forums into one handy General Chat, which means you can keep track of every topic across the site in one place.

We've also updated the Video Library so that it works with the newly released Flash 10.

Just for you nF!

Also, it looks like a new bug crept in as part of this update - commenting on news posts via the news page dumps a fat load of url-encoded text into the page instead of just the text. I'll work on this now and try and manually fix affected posts.

You guys gonna do a different colour scheme for the forums on ausgamers.com? One reason I haven't even considered switching is I hate its layout. And also it's kind of annoying to tell which thread/post is which without some sort of alternating colours (this is made worse by me not being able to read too).

Yeh it was on the todo list at some point but it's a little lower on the priority chain now. I thought I'd go mad reading a white and green forum but now I'm completely and utterly used to it and when I go back to the original QGL template I find it really weird.

You say you hate the layout - is it anything specific? Or do you just mean colours?

The problem with forums where you allow HTML code is that you need to use tables so bad html doesn't mess up the rest of the forum thread. If you stuff up html within a table cell it contains it to that cell. Unless there's a way to prevent that using css that I'm not aware?

Can you still use a text sig? Mine doesn't show anything about sigs at all just avatar uploads, so far as I can see anyway, not even a message saying its disabled (it is and I know why).

Ive got a question, in the ausgamers forum, there are lots of sub sections, how do posts end up in the sub sections, when they are made on the old school qgl forum and it doesnt have sections?
