Topic: QGL Moto Riders - group ride sometime?

Over the last few months it has become evident there is actually quite few riders on here.

Any of you guys be keen to meet up and go for a Nebo/Glorius run sometime in the coming weeks? Just did a 150 odd km loop with 2 mates yesterday (1 who is new to riding) and we had a great time.

It won't be a get your knee scraping super speed run...

I personally would like to try and keep my license and I'd rather not see anyone come off into a tree or car. Spirited sometimes sure, but all within sensibility so it will be at a nube friendly pace.

Just trying to gauge the interest at the moment.

Theres not a whole lot else around here unless you want to travel a long distance before getting to the good stuff.

Mt Cootha is okay for a quick ride but its not that great.

I rode the Husaberg over 200 km's yesterday... last 50km I spent swapping ass cheek on the seat every 2 mins. I'm so sore today :S Must have looked weird as to the cars behind me :p

I'm down for Mt Mee haven't done it yet.

All good, my mate rode with us yesterday and he's been on a CBR250R for about a month and he did just fine.

All well and good, but I figured it could be a QGL ride seeing we all e-know each other already.

damn, my xr is still unregistered :/ maybe next time.

i dunno... mt.mee has a lot of rough shoulders that spew gravel over some corners which can be iffy. northbrook parkway ftw imo ;D

Its okay but the first run through from the gap still has tight blind corners with rocks on the road.

The first quarter of mount mee has iffy corners with crap on the road but the rest of it is awesome. specially the twistys coming down on the caboolture side.

I'm just about to buy a Buell XB9S so if I have it by the time we go I will have to decide :)

Tard is fun, but the ass does not enjoy long distance on it :(

We took the wrong road at the nebo/glorious intersection and ended up heading out towards sumerset dam or whatever the f*** its called.

That road kicked ass, the first few turns were killer and theres some massive long sweeping hairpins near the end that seemed endless. The Berg ate that s*** up, was catching the cbr250 on the outside line with ease :D

-------------

So I suppose that now we have plenty of interest, we should start talking times.

Sunday morning? Times? Meeting point? Can have some staged meets if that works... I'll be coming from the Southside with my 2 mates.

Also letting you guys know that there are road works on Mt Mee between the lookout and Mt Mee Village. Rubbish all over the road.

I have found from previous rides that either the Caltex/HJ's at Carseldine or the Dayboro pool car park to be the easiest meeting points imo

note to motorbike riders, if I'm sitting up your ass on mt nebo can you atleast make an effort to get over to one side when I'm over taking you.

Thanks.
I once had a really good glorious run with a guy on a moto but not long after you see that sign with the guy on the motorbike he got a massive wobble up and decided to take it ezzzz.

We had that problem several times with cars :/

Only 1 out of about 10 actually realised they had 3 bikes up their ass and moved over for us. Thumbs up to the driver from me :)

If you enjoy sitting in a chair sure... its also worth probably at least 5 times what my bike is.

mmmm I doooo like sitting in a chair, I get a great rush out of it.
I certainly wouldn't have the guts to do what alot of guys do on bikes up there.

I haven't been up there in awhile since my tyres and brakes are shagged and I don't plan on replacing them till I get back from the states.

Also beware I've seen sooo many bikes pulled over by undercover cops up there, I've been lucky a few times that I've seen the lights flashing between trees.

haha 65k including reserve, and thats tight technical off road tracks. I havn't ridden this bike full tank on the road yet so have no idea how far it'll do.

Wish I still had my roadbike but I got hit by an African on it a month ago. Dam Nigga broke my bike, he did a U'turn from the side of the road, no indication right in front of me, I was doing 60k. Tried my best but once my front tyre hit his front tyre the bike flipped and I shoulder barged his door, which he now can't open.

45k a tank?! surely not a road bike, fueling up like every day would piss me right off.
