strange one...

got a sata drive. works fine in usb caddy. just got all the data off it then formated it.

plug into pc, bios finds it.

do the xp load, comes up with "no hard drive". do i have to install 3rd party drivers or something? only ever seen this when doing a raid setup.

ok, it was the 3rd party driver option... or change a bios setting

Is this a question?

You can either:

1. Put drivers onto a floppy, or
2. Slipstream SATA/AHCI drivers into your XP install, or
3. Install in regular IDE mode and do some trickery post-install to put AHCI back on.
