Released 30th August 2007
linkies A modern-day musical about a busker and an immigrant and their eventful week in Dublin, as they write, rehearse and record songs that tell their love story. I watched this last night and I must say, holy f***ing s*** it was awesome. Easily in my top 10 movies I've seen this year. The story is so simple, but the whole thing just works so well. A busker and an immigrant meet and over the course of a week they fall in love and put together an album. The music in this is fantastic and really uplifting and makes the movie a real pleasure to watch. This has been out on DVD for a little while now and after hearing so many good things about this I had to check it out. If you haven't watched this yet go rent a copy and it will be the best 90 minutes you've spent watching a movie in a long time. 2 thumbs up! Spoiler below, this is the part where the movie really shines |
