Well it looks like this year's E3 trailer wave has subsided but Eidos have slipped a new video out today - a developer diary from the upcoming Tomb Raider Underworld.
Tomb Raider: Underworld marks the first game in this flagship series that is designed specifically for next generation consoles. Lara Croft uncovers proof of the existence of the mythical hammer of the Norse God Thor, a weapon rumored to have the power to smash mountains into valleys and destroy the Gods themselves.
Today's clip can be found right here on AusGamers and features 2 and a half minutes of the Crystal Dynamics developers discussing some of the finer points of Lara's latest adventure along with a few samples of in-game action.

Tomb Raider Underworld is due on November 21 2008 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS, and PC Games for Windows.

So how long does a console have to be available on the market before it gets referred to as current gen? 2 years? 3 years? 5 years?

Heh, it's pretty much only nubs that still use it to describe current gen console tech now.

As for this Tomb Raider. I've still got a soft spot for these games and really enjoyed Legend and Anniversary but they're going to have to start evolving the gameplay more if they want to keep up with the likes of Uncharted.
