Years ago on Wednesdays there would be a bunch of stalls etc down at UQ near the grassy knoll. Does this still happen?

yes they still do, its great because at the start of the semester companies like V give free s*** out.

i dunno, there's more asians around campus than usually which i usually associate with o week

They have markets every Wednesday in union square near the lollyshop/secondhand bookshop. Market day was yesterday, always the Wednesday of O week. I missed both this year. Not bad for freebies, but not usually that great either. Still, it's not a bad day if you have a group of ppl there, get some free food and there's lots of talent out and about.
