Ok So I am bored , at work and suddenly a memory came back from the early 90's Virtual Reality !!! ahhh good old lawnmower man :)

So the question I would like to put out there for all those that can research the internet better and more efficiently than I ....Is there still development going on in this field for the commercial market? mainly the console market I am interested in

Not sure if any of you recall the Nintendo Virtual boy? http://www.virtual-boy.org/ this was a very early attempt and well it failed BIG TIME !!

See, I am thinking with all of today's technology and especially in consoles that Sony or M$ could integrate a HUD and a VR glove to get this rolling ... one thing I did find is that Sony have recently patented a VR Glove ... so maybe they have thought of it already http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2007/04/sony_ps3_to_battle_wii_with_vr.html


I know Sony has the PlayStation EYE and all those kind of gizmos but what I am really interested in is being completely immersed in a VR world with HUD's , Head Trackers, etc etc for the commercial console market

Anyway, cant wait to see what you guys come up with...

Yea I saw the same stuff for a PS3 ... looks nice but obviously still very much underdevelopment
