We have bravely made the journey across the boundless ocean to Los Angeles to check out the Next Big Things in gaming at the E3 Media & Business Summit 2008. Festivities kicked off officially this morning with Microsoft's Xbox event - we'll have coverage from that up shortly, including some shakycam video footage of some of the gameplay.

Stay tuned for more big announcements and updates over the week! While it's a far cry from the Olde Glory Days, there's still a lot of cool stuff happening - we have a pretty busy schedule planned and we're going to be getting first-hand experience with some of the biggest titles at the show.

exactly how many trips have you made in the past couple of years trog? Is it just me or do you always seem to be going somewhere?

I wish! But I did go to GDC earlier this year. I wasn't actually to keen to come to E3 but the invitations aren't transferable (although after talking to a bunch of Aussie journalists last night apparently that isn't the case, doh).

I just got k-pwned trying to go to a magical Gears of War 2 event that is on. Sadly it is hyper-exclusive and I wasn't on THE LIST, so I just walked back home through downtown LA dodging various interesting characters. Steve is there now, I assume working hard checking out Gears of War 2, drinking cocktails and eating various delicacies. I'm having a great time in my hotel room though.
