I was thinking you know how COD 4 is more expensive because we are in Australia... is there away of by passing this?

How does steam know we are from Australia IP or just our contacts? because i was thinking is it possible to create steam account which US based and then purchase the game as gift to someone else or would i need to get a friend from the US to do this for me?

yeah dude - rent out a server in the states (or get a mate to let you remote in to one of his boxen). buy it online. once the game comes up in your list, log into steam @ home and dl the content

you might have some issues later on claiming your Steam purchases off tax if you get audited though. prolly check with your accountant on that one

actaully I was wondering if your account permanently locks you to Aussie pricing cause it was set up here.

if that's the case I'd create a new account while logged in to the US box then gift it over to my Steam account.

i was thinking more of someone from the US using there account and instead of purchasing for themselves purchase it as gift...

i want to buy it on steam but want it in my account...
i hate cds and cd keys keep losing the s***
