Evening chaps. I know there are a few people on here who use linux as a main OS. Ive just put fedora 9 on my asus laptop, I have gotten all the main stuff to work, but if any one has a fav video codec pack or something for xvid, avi's and the like let us know. Yes ive tried the xvid linux download but it wont install on FC9. I just figured that some of you are Linux pros i would ask the question.

it wouldnt play a xvid file of BSG S04 i through at it. None of the built in media players did. Sais it requires a codec, and gives me options but there all over like 15 pounds.

Seems VLC is the go, but the files wont run in the other players only vnc, but that is not a problem, thanks for the help.

personally I've always hated VLC player, but goddamn does it run well on my EeePC

Also this site was awesome, linky It is a complete walk through on how to setup everything to get FC9 to a fully functional state, fixed up a heap of stuff for me.
