We've got our dirty little AusGamers hands on a copy of the debut trailer for Call of Duty: World at War (I like that they've dropped the numbers), and from all accounts, despite not being developed by Infinity Ward (it's being handled by Treyarch who also did CoD3), it's looking pretty sweet.

CoD:WaW takes place during the pacific portion of the WWII campaign, as well as during the Russian invasion of Germany. New features will include Flame Throwers and the ability to burn down portions of the environment (I'm more excited to see how these will go in multiplayer). It's also interesting to note this trailer does not have the PS3 logo anywhere in sight, though it could just be a separate PS3 trailer will be made available soon. Thoughts?

Just as well this is on the way, it's already been a few months since a WWII game came out.

I'm just keen to see what they do with the multi - hopefully IW had some input in that portion, or at least oversaw development

From the previews I've read they're keeping the multi fairly close to what IW did with COD4. That is, the perks and load out sections, the leveling and unlocks system. Though there's also talk there'll be vehicles in this one as well (COD3) and that some maps will focus solely on vehicle battles.

Another reason I'm kinda looking forward to this is the 4 player co op, drop in/out at the start of any level.

yeah coop was the one thing utterly missing fromcod 4 that would have made the game even better

Also, heh, I thought I'd just comments post this because it seems a little far-fetched. Here's hoping it's not true, though given EA and Acti are practically mortal enemies and EA have Dead Space, it could have some truthful bearing...

Steve, why would a futuristic CoD game be bad? Sci-fi doesn't mean space, it means science fiction. BF2142 isn't shooting little green men, but it's certainly sci-fi, and (I think) it's pretty enjoyable too.

I would personally love to see Infinity Ward do a CoD game set in the future.

I cant wait for this game ...
Bit worried about the PS3 logo missing surely they are going to release it on PS3, if not they will really piss off the PS3 Community

I would groan at a CoD game set in the future. CoD4 is just right.

(Would we still be able to shoot Mulims in the future?)

Midda, yeah, fair enough, I just don't want anything derivative, I guess IW are pretty creative in their own right, so we'd maybe something special, depending on the futuristic setting they opt for
