What's the best internet security program? There's been a constant flow of about 12-20kb/sec going upstream from here on and off over the last two weeks or so, and I'm getting a bit concerned over it. I want to know wtf it is, and I want to be able to stop it if I can.

So, please somebody tell me what would be the best program to install to overcome this problem, because I really have no idea where to start.

Try sygate firewall too. And Rukh would have you use TPF as well. A linux firewall wouldn't go astray either (much better alternative imo if you have a spare machine). Smoothwall is apparently the easiest/best one to use.

I am a compleate linux n00b, but found www.freesco.com quite the part excelent, router/firewall on a single floppy, hell, i dont even have a hard drive in the linux computer.

Tiny Personal Firewall working wonders here.

I am using a Windows 2000 gateway.... and no I am not going to install Linux on it.
