Hey,

I have an Aopen HQ08 case that I wanted to mod , put a side windows in couple of fans, etc etc etc.

Anyway, does anyone know where I could go to get the case cut and a window installed ( laser cutting or something) ? Im sure its very easy to do it yourself, but id rather have someone that knows and has done it and has the proper equipment.

I looked at but they ont do your case, you have to buy one of theirs.

so, anyone know?

I think a lot of case modding is the love you put into it yourself. It's also a lot of the fun, and pride people get out of doing something themselves.

It's kind of like when my little nephew wants to get me up to a certain stage in a game... I tell him to f*** off, cos the fun is in playing it yourself.

yeah I borked my old puter's case when the jigsaw jumped up and slid across the case cos I was too weak to handle it.
I still have much love for it though.

I gave my pc side case with masking tape over it and with a drawn cutting hole. Gave it to my Dad who works at UQ and took it to the automotive shop, the guy has a laser cutter there, did a perfect cut even though my case has little vent holes down the bottom, installed the perspex window with the rubber and glued it in place (you can't tell its been glued at all) and it cost me a $10 scratchie. Best investment I ever made!

yupthat is how you have to do it, or a car panel beater, manyof then have laser cutters.

calve (kv, käv)
v. calved, calv·ing, calves
v. intr.
To give birth to a calf.
To break at an edge, so that a portion separates. Used of a glacier or iceberg.

I assume he meant the second one :D

That could happen to mine. :P

Anyway, im not too keen on a 747 sounding case in my room capt0 :P

Im doing pretty much everything myself except cutting it, then im respraying it. Does anyone know of a laser cutter d00d fella bloke type of person in the15 min vacinity of ferny grove ( this side of town )?

If not, my boss said he can do it one day and help install it an s***, he is a perfectionist, which is good, cause he wont stop till it looks kool :D

Also, as I said before, Im respraying my case, so wat sort of paint should I use? I would have thought there was differant types of paint for the metal part and the plastic part.

If your gunna do everything else you might as well go to effort to cut it up yourself. Then you could say it was compleatly done by you.
