Australian author Matthew Reilly will be making an appearance to talk about and sign copies of his new book Area 7, at the Dymocks book store at Chermside shopping centre at 1:30pm this afternoon.

For any fans of action movies out there, if you haven't read a Matthew Reilly book, I would definately recommend it. The books are fast paced, intense, and never let up from the word go. I have read, and immensely enjoyed his first three books (Ice Station, Temple and Contest) and I fully intend to be there later today to pick up my copy of Area 7 and hopefully cop a signature or two :)

I was going to post a huge article on the launch and also on the news of Resident Evil being a GC-only franchise, but as I was writing it I knew that the response was going to be the usual anti-nintendo peole fighting with the same tired old arguments against the same pro-nintendo people. See where your whinging gets you - no news articles from me!

If you want to see footage, go to cube.ign.com and www.planetgamecube.com. The RE movie looks unbelievable.

i read ice station a while ago. it was fukn awesome until about 2/3 or 3/4 of the way thru, when it just got completely rediculous. and i mean fully b-grade wannabe rambo type action. the book just turned into a joke - i wrote more realistic action stories when i was in primary school.

Haha, I read Ice Station last week, coicidentally - I read the whole thing in one night and I didn't really like it. I read the back, and saw two separate references to it being "well researched", but found it to be, uh, sorta lacking. I'll back Stez's "completely ridiculous" call up, in fact - its like a book written that wants to be a bad action movie (ironically, the sort of movie I really enjoy!)

Well movie rights to his first book, Contest (kinda like a cross between Aliens and Running Man) have already been sold, so I wouldn't be suprised if Ice Station does too.
