Does anyone know any photoshop filters or simple ways of taking out some of the artifacts from scanning pictures? I've got a few pics there that have been scanned in and have that annoying dotty "I've been scanned" type-look.

i dunno, but i have a photoshop question im looking for a picture of an austrlaian street and kangaroos photoshop them to make it look like austrlaia has like kangaroos everywhere then trick american people

i dont know of any filters specifically to fix s*** like that up. You could mess with the colour/contrast an all that to lessen the effect tho.

Or indidually get rid of each dot.

Or clean ur scanner.

just apply uber blur
you won't notice the artifacts anymore .....

i think those little dots or dotty-patterns you are talking about are caled moire. Try finding an option/filter that has to do with removing moire

No moire (or moiré for the linguists) relates to interference or wavey patterns.

He's talking about the common specks caused by dust on the glass surface. The only real way to remove them (unless you happen to be running Inferno... yeah right) is to do it manually by using the clone tool and a very small brush to paint over them with what's right beside them.

Anyway this thread is ancient I doubt he even cares any more.
