I got deferred success for _1_ mistake :(

see here:

Ipswich, Roderick St.
http://www.chillz.net/roderick.gif (look @ the blue x's, that is the street)

Have to wait till October before I can go again, then November if I fail then. They need more examiners on ffs

that sucks dude, sorry to hear it.

although, i can see where the instructor is coming from unfortunately :(
there is always a small chance someone will be coming up behind you and that is one pretty niche ways of getting into a crash

As a driver of 2.5 years, that comes naturally to me. you just cannot do that. If you know you have to turn right, you should move into the right lane! espcially if your turning into a one way street like you showed on the diagram. It kinda seems like a retarded thing to do. But hey, good luck for your next test.

That _1_ mistake is pretty huge...
With the few examiners they have, they're pretty much booked all year round, steady stream of income for them.

Bad luck there, I know the nerves can get the better of you when under pressure of the exams but seriously thats a real nice way to get t-boned.

typo, tiny, bah.

you know this dude who just failed or you all naturally a bunch of upyourself awesome wanker drivers? pull the f***en sticks outta your arse and give this dude a break, sypathise with him (im also a driver of 2 years without a single crash, and yes ive done more k's than i wanto contemplate). his mistake WASNT that bad, he DIDNT cut a give way or stop sign, he DIDNT fail to indicate and then swerve right, he DIDNT run a red light, you get the f***en idea.

good luck dude with your next driving test, next time you will have learnt from your mistakes so good luck :)

ps: i passed first time with no mistakes except for indicating right whilst i was in the left lane merging into the right lane ....the instructor claimed there was nothing wrong but it was something he wouldnt have done)

Thats a pretty major mistake, i think they class that as a 'critical' mistake (as opposed to a non-critical: leaving your blinker on).

The examiner was right to fail you for it. Sorry dude, better luck next time.

(failed 3 times before getting my licence)

also, wft is 'deferred success'. Is that some new ultra-PC term for failure ?

sypathise with him
If he didn't expect to get flamed from his post, then he hasn't learned anything.
From his actions i am wondering if he even knew it was a one way road when he made the turn, which would be an extremely major f***up.

yeah that's a pretty huge mistake, I got mine first go even though I had two faults, I think they were not using the mirror enough and I stalled it on a reverse park

its the street that Autobarn is on, but the part where i turned was further up where there was little traffic

its an 'easy going' way for saying 'fail', never saw the thread about education department making primary school teachers use deferred success instead of fail?

I did the exact same thing as you Jem first time round, and failed. Oh well, wasn't too hard the next round.

My driving test went for less than 20 minutes, I don't know if the tester had to be somewhere or what but after about 15 minutes he just says to go back to the depot, 0 mistakes

I got a double fault on my driving test, something about reversing and rear check. I don't beleive I drove any differently with the instructor vs the tester so he just picked something up while the tester didn't(I think it was to do with the amount of time between the rear check and reversing). Test didn't go for all that long, I think most testers can probably tell if you are going to fail or pass within the first 5-10 mins.

There is a reason why the person failed, as the mistake is pretty bad. Thank f*** you're not an examiner, otherwise i'd hate to see the s*** you let pass.

The problem with what you did is that if there was a car in a blind spot and you didnt shoulder check or something like that you would get T-boned by the car in the inside lane. Not only that but if there was a car there he would assume you were switching lanes, not about to slow down to make a turn off the road.

I would rate that as way worse than a rolling stop-sign or fail to correctly give way easily.

If you make a mistake that major id say that you arent ready for driving yet, there is a big difference between working the pedals and common sense stuff like that.

Jem, as long as you changed lanes and turned into another street as safe as possible then I dont mind you being on the road. As for the people with 2 years of driving experience and dishing out critisism / advice, I would take their remarks with a grain of salt, as they dont know s*** about life.

Yeah you made a mistake. Tough luck, better luck next time. I passed my test first time. Two more weeks till i'm on my opens!

How old were you? If you were young I call bulls***. An examiner told me they don't give people perfect scores because they don't want young people going on the roads thinking they're perfect.

Its one of the main streets in the Ipswich CBD (if you can call it a 'CBD'). Think Ann St.

Well obviously he didn't do it as safe as possible or he would have been in the right most lane. The road rules are there for a reason, he was lucky this time but there could have been someone in his blind spot, or a person rushing across the road because the car in the far lane obviously shouldn't be turning into a side street.

Hahaha. I like how it's like "EVEN THOUGH THE STREET WAS EMPTY!"

"Man I only went fukken 15km/h over the speed limit and I failed! The street was empty ffs!"

Not saying that nobody makes mistakes, but don't be a f***head and think you can get away with it on your driving test "Because nobody else was there"

"I'm not breaking the law because there are no police around!"

I was taking a U-Turn at an intersection when an aboriginal ran out in front of me. I stopped in time but the instructor said I wasn't careful enough and failed...... Ofcourse I should've expected that to happen though, I was in Woodridge.

Personlly that would earn you abuse from me, cause it was a pretty big mistake, but, its a mistake as long as you learned from it :)

I got marked down for not using my mirrors enough, even tho I was, he couldnt see my head turning, fortunatly still passed.
