One of the mates at work stumbled across this site that reports various levels of success with fixing *stuck* pixels (not dead pixels) by running a video for extended periods of time which flashes Red, Green and Blue over and over again
Some people state they have tried it on LCD monitors as well with some success. I'd be cautious about doing it myself Creator = Nick Foothill link here Most people have been complaining to Sony about their stuck and dead pixels. Well I have done my research and I heard about a guy over at psphacks.net that had a LCD TV that had some stuck pixels and when he went to Best-Buy they gave him a dvd that flashed Red, Green and Blue over and over again. This supposedly "un-sticks" the stuck pixels, by calling them to do rapid changes (To my understanding). So I thought about it for a while, and I said, what the heck, I'll try it. So I made my own video that does this, and it works! |

I must have been one of the lucky ones who got a PSP with no dead pixels.

which is funny because my work was looking at specifying the panel that is used in 1+ revision of the psp hardware for another product and the technical manual for it wasn't even available without an NDA. Now why do you think they'd do that?

Because its prolly specific to sony and the may own the rights to it now and dont want to give out business secrets?
NDAs are standard if you want a glass of water in some corp places, specially NEC. |

haha, Sony's 'Dead Pixel' Technology.
Can't be disclosing THOSE secrets... Its interesting how much trouble Sony is having where Nintendo have shipped millions of DS's with vey minimal dead pixel issues. |
