Hi guys. Lately I've noticed that when using Opera I am starting to cop a few more pop-ups than I used to. This is an unwelcome surprise. My question is this: 1. Have any of you noticed more pop-up ownage with your l337 alternative browsers (Firefox, Mozilla etc)? 2. If so is this the beginning of the end for us who have been living in non-IE nirvana? Are we all as doomed as an IE user? Discuss. P.S. Anybody who answers 'OMG MAENZ FIREFOX WTF LOLZ' is instructed to read the thread again and gets the 'gayest post of the day in a QGL thread' award. |

Some site will use DHTML and Flash to evade pop-up blockers or even use a pop-behind method to pop-up new windows. I occasaionlly get the pop-unders in Firefox, though I haven't noticed an increased amount of pop-up/unders.
I'd doubt that IE users would get any less pop-ups than non-IE users unless they're using 3rd party software or something like that My $0.02. |

1. Have any of you noticed more pop-up ownage with your l337 alternative browsers (Firefox, Mozilla etc)?Yes, but there are a lot of settings (in about:config in firefox) which can disable these too so since putting these on and adding some in have made my browsing life complete :p |

I get the occasional pop-under using Firefox, but that's about all. Nothing major.

I use IE and popup killer and I get bugger all popups. The only time I really get any sort of spam is if I'm looking for spoot pics, but apart from that it's pretty much non-existant.

I use IE and popup killer and I get bugger all popups. Yeah, your system is probably so low on resources from previously installed spyware that your browser is unable to launch popups. Just f***ing with ya dude:P |
