How about: instead of putting precious development time into a paid expansion, flesh the game out like you promised, Blizzard. World events like the opening of the dark portal? End game content? Class balancing & bug fixing?

World events like the opening of the dark portal. End game content. Class balancing & bug fixing If you think you can code, animate, design, test, analyze, plan, etc faster than they can produce a product that meets a specific level of quality i suggest you apply to work for them to bring us updates quicker! They like many other companies they will have certain people dedicated to working on the expansion and others focused on current game content. They have already advertised many new positions for people to join the wow dev team to balance out the work load. |

They have already advertised many new positions for people to join the wow dev team to balance out the work load. It's a sad state of MMORPG affairs when people are hitting the level cap, completeing the end-game content upteen thousand times, getting bored of the severely lackluster PvP and shelving the game before content mentioned in the instruction manual as in-game content is even implemented. The game, as of last patch, is now up to the promised retail release standards. Why are they putting development funds into an expansion this early? |

Pharcyde you are on drugs.
Asherons call was bigger by a long way in size, and had a progressive storyline that changed with player interaction. Also EQ has way more content, don't believe me ? look at the item and quest databases on allakazam. "but obes they have been around ages" *shrug* you said the most of any mmog, which simply is not true. |

Why are they putting development funds into an expansion this early? I would guess that the return from the sales would be greater than the development costs. They do have 2 million subscribers world wide? I can't remember the number. |

What is 'end game content'? I've heard this term bandied about in MMOs but still don't know what it means.

interesting stuff to do once you've hit the maximum level. prior to that your time is ultimately consumed by actually reaching that level.

If you think you can code, animate, design, test, analyze, plan, etc faster than they can produce a product that meets a specific level of quality i suggest you apply to work for them to bring us updates quicker! I hate this form of logic, it suggests that people shouldn't complain or expect more out of a company unless they themselves could do better than the entire company. Which is not only a stupid statement, it is a retarded argument. It doesn't require someone to be a leading expert in their field to recognise major and obvious problems. If we all had to be experts about something, then the only person who could talk would be Obes, and only on the topic of forum trolling, and Trog on his man-man love of Bruce Willis. The rest of us would have to shut the f*** up and listen. In this case we don't need to be uber developers or designers to notice and understand failings in WoW. In fact the only skill that people really need is the desire to recognise the problems. Which, to tell the truth, if you have been following WoW from the start it should be more than obvious were the problems are. They like many other companies they will have certain people dedicated to working on the expansion and others focused on current game content. The problem is that their live team is obviouly over-worked. They either need two teams (one to fix s***, and one to create new s***), or they need a much larger team (which fixes and creates s***). Currently they seem to be aiming for the lofty standards of Sony Online ?lets release promised base game content, in expansions!?. I mean isn't it more than obvious that Blizzard no longer cares about what makes a good game, but what makes the most dollars? They have already advertised many new positions for people to join the wow dev team to balance out the work load. Sure, they are hiring some new staff to take up the slack. However, a lot of that slack has appeared because people are leaving, and not just in dribs or drabs, but like rats from a sinking ship. A lot of those positions are trying to fill the holes of the people jumping ship from Blizzard. WoW Live lost their entire animation crew and lead art to NCSoft, who opened shop just across the road to Blizzard. A lot of the senior (but not yet lead) developers have been offered massive salaries to go work on other MMOG projects. |

Probably the worst rumour I have heard is that Blizzard contracts didn't specify how many copies developers got paid royalities on. In the past, developers got paid lewt from every single licence sold. However, after WoW was released Blizzard management limited the royalties to 100,000 copies.
No wonder so many left. |

And khel is definately the expert of buying toys while owing money. Hunter is the expert of being hunter! Being that retarded takes dedication. Jim seemed pretty expert at banning people. And psycho can talk where ever he likes (he has a glock). And to limit trog to only man love for Bruce Willis is unfair, he also is expert at drinking up the diarrhea (or Doom3) from the the gigantic reamed anus that is ID. See lots of people can talk here. |

did any of you whinging fags go run Molten Core and finish it?Did any of you get bored and vow not to do that again after the first run or two? It was only fun for the guilds who had to strive to discover techniques to beat the bosses. Even then, only a few people in the group were rewarded with items. Psst, MC is boring. |

did any of you whinging fags go run Molten Core and finish it? have you? and i dont see how that statement has anything todo with there concerns as paying players. one of your rights as a customer who pays for a product is the ability to provide feedback to the company/makers of said product, wether or not there concerns are actually listened to is another thing. in the case of blizzard your concerns are listened there just generally not responded too instantly. you cant expect to ask a game company to fix there game and for it to happen over night. |

wow jsut gets really boring after a while.
I started to get really frustrated with it after about the 30th run of brd to get the barman shanker, finaly got it then i quit wow hahaha.. not to mention mc and onyxia (sp?) being really boring and tedius aswell. I think they need to change the loot system so that the bosses drop more loot or something along those lines. last edited by sc00bs at 16:36:56 26/Jun/05 |

hashy u havent played many mmorpgs have u?Of course, but the rest of WoW is nothing like MC WoW suckers you in with what is really a pretty glorious game on the rise to 60 - once you get there, you're stuck in a pretty sub-standard mmorpg experience. Plus: barring a few extremely rare items, end-game caster itemization sucks the big one. |

Loki having done that s*** in EQ I made a point of avoiding it in every other game since.
That style of end game is all about greed, using and abusing "friends" in search of fat loot. |

That style of end game is all about greed, using and abusing "friends" in search of fat loot. The worst part about EQ was the cockblocking for success and profit. If you had friends in up and coming guilds it wasn't in your best interest to help them with content. Heck, unless you thought you could get them into your guild, it wasn't in your best interest to even help them level. |
